The Icarus Club

The Icarus Club is the best kept secret in town - an underground casino where the winners of games are able to change the schedule. The casino has 5 games on offer (roulette, craps, poker, blackjack, slots), but only one is played each night. The schedule is posted in advance, but the winner of a casino game may switch what game is played on another night. You can make big money by winning, but the gambler who earns the most draws too much attention to themselves and will be thrown out of the casino, stripped of their winnings. The big winner at the casino is the gambler who comes in second overall.

The Icarus Club, designed by Hugame and previously released as Backhander, is played over a series of tricks. Every trick, each player in turn order chooses a card from their hand, places it face up in front of them, and after every player has done so you determine the winner of the trick. The leftmost card of the lane determines which suit you must play if you have it in your hand, and the highest card played of that suit will win the trick. If you do not have a card of that suit in your hand, you may play any card. The winner takes all of the cards played, as well as the Follow Card (and any card beneath it) which determined the suit. If no one played a card of the suit determined by the Follow Card, then no one wins that trick and those cards are discarded. At the end of the game, the total number of cards you have won is your earnings for the night. The second highest score wins.p
